Derry Girls Erin and Orla are back on our small screens with an important message from isolation.

Saoirse Monica Jackson and Louise Harland reprised their roles for a three minute home video clip of their characters hiding out in the 'airing cupboard'.

The clip shared by Channel 4 on Twitter sees the bickering cousins speak from Derry, in 1996.

"These are uncertain times,” Erin says for the interest of “future historians”.

“Peace negotiations have broken down and mass rioting engulfs our streets. The city is literally on fire.”

"This is the most important thing we've ever had to do. It's just such a massive responsibility."

The duo go on to say that they’ve been ordered to stay home by the authorities before Orla announces that she’s thankful for Coco Pops.

Dublin native, Harland clarified on Twitter that the actresses live together, therefore, they didn’t break any social distancing restrictions to record.

"First time I've laughed this week. Thank you," one Twitter user replied underneath the video.

While more jokingly debated whether it is called an 'airing cupboard' or a 'hot press'.
