'Wash your hands!' Cashel pupils star in handwashing video

Pupils in Cashel community school have starred in their own own music video against Covid-19.

The rap against Covid-19 was inspired by the Claire Byrne Live show on RTÉ, where the pupils watched a video encouraging better personal hygiene and decided to make their own version.

Composed and filmed in their SPHE class, the students took the proactive approach with a number of memorable lyrics including "Don't take risks, wash your wrists," and "Use a tissue, or we could have an issue".

Yesterday, the Government took further action against the spread of coronavirus, announcing the closure of schools, colleges and childcare facilities for two weeks.

Cashel community school pupils will be accessing classwork through Google classroom for that time.

Catriona Ryan, the pupil's teacher, said: "Management and staff are very proud of the rap that the students produced."
