What does Santa do on Christmas morning? Junior infants reveal the magic of Christmas
Because if he lived in Carrigaline everyone might see him making the presents, and he likes the surprise.
Cos all the presents are there!
Because his elves all work there and he has to make sure they’re doing everything right. He’d be upset if they did something wrong so he makes sure they do a good job!
Because the elves live there and they make the presents so Santa has to live with them.
Because Santa doesn’t want any children to see him making the presents!
Nobody can see him in the North Pole, so then it’s a surprise.
Santa doesn’t like people coming to the house because the elves are making presents and the presents are all secret.

He has a big bag and he puts the presents in, goes on the sleigh and gets down the chimney.
He puts them all into one big fluffy bag and they fit them into the sleigh because he stuffs them in, but nothing ever gets broken.
He has a special ball that goes very bright when he gets near the right country — that’s how he knows where he is!
There’s a Santa in every country, so there are really loads of Santas around the world, and they all give out presents on the same night but it’s really different nights because the times are all different in the different countries. All the Santas put the presents into small bags and fit them into the back of the sleigh, and Santa steers the sleigh with a special handle. He has one hand on the rope. The reindeer are tied to the rope and he uses a special handle to steer them.
He goes in a very fast sleigh but first he packs them all into a special bag.
It goes 205 miles an hour so he can get to peoples’ houses fast!
His sleigh goes like a lion, about 289 miles an hour. I’d like a go on a sleigh like that.
Oh, it goes so fast, very fast, fast as a rocket. It goes faster than my Dad’s car anyway.
Very fast!
As fast as the bus.
21 miles an hour. J
As fast as a cheetah.
As fast as my mum’s car.
As fast as a flash!
I’d like a Barbie Rescue Centre with animals. I like animals. My favourites are foxes, squirrels and rhinos. There will be bunnies and squirrels and foxes in the Rescue Centre.
A bike and an LOL doll. I’d like an orange bike.
A red and blue robot.
A table train-track to share with my brother, Aidan. He’s three and he likes trains too. The other thing I want for Christmas is a Batman car. I’d like the Joker man (figurine) as well and I’d like a station for the Batmobile and the Jokermobile.
I’m getting 270 runners. I like them a lot. Everyone has them and I’m a bit jealous so I’m getting them from Santa. He’s also getting me an iPod.
I’d like a makeup set. I want to put makeup on my friends. We like doing that, and we dress up. It’s good fun!
I’d like a sleigh and a bike and more jigsaws. I like jigsaws. I have loads of racing car jigsaws. I’d like more!
I hope he will bring me Hot Wheels and a Lego set because I like building houses with Lego.
I’d like a scooter, I’m not allowed to go out on the street because it’s too dangerous but I’d go around the garden on it.
I’d like a Mario Racetrack to race Mario cars. I’d like a Lego table too to make Lego on it. I’d like to make Lego animals.
I’d like Hotwheels and Paw Patrol Mighty Pups and Lego.
I want all the Lego space stuff because I’m going to make a Lego Space town and a Lego Space city with a rocket station. You put a rollercoaster in it and it makes a big station with trucks and space vehicles.

He has a magic ball and he can see in the crystal ball if you’re being naughty or nice. He can spy on you. I will be nice, and I’ll get my Barbie Rescue Centre!
He has magic eyes and he can see if you’re being bold.
Mrs Claus tells him! She has a stethoscope and she can see out the window with it and see what everyone is doing.
He puts you on a good list or a bad list. It depends on what the robins tell him.
Because of the elves. They all look around and see if the kids are bad or good. They fly into your house; they come in and look around and see if you are being good or bad.
I saw Santa putting out the presents! He was in the sitting-room, and he was eating the cookies — they were gingerbread cookies — that my family left out for him. He liked them and then he drank chocolate milk. His reindeer were eating the carrots. They came into the sitting-room as well.
I never saw him yet but I’m going to see him! I’m going up to the North Pole to see Santa! I’ll fly there in an airplane with my Mum and Dad and my sister Leah and my other sister Tara. I’m the biggest, they’re younger than me.
I saw Santa at Fota once. I forget what he said but he gave me a present. It was a Yum Yum lunchbox with cards in it.
I’m going to see him in Fota! I’ll say ‘Hello Santa’ and then I’ll tell him that I’m hoping for a big giant kitchen. I’ll make pretend food in it.
I never saw him. I don’t get out of bed because I’d be afraid I’d get a bag of coal. I stay in bed and I never come out til the morning.
I caught him in a trap once and he said ‘Let me out! I have to deliver all the toys.’ But I said no. I didn’t let him out but the elves broke the trap and let him out!
There’s a mince pie for Santa, as well as a cherry pie and milk and some chocolate chip cookies. What you have to do for the reindeer is fill up a glass with water and put grass into it and give it to the reindeer and they drink it. But first you have to make sure that you get frosty grass to put in the water.
We put carrots for the reindeer and cookies and milk for Santa on the mantelpiece in the sitting room.
We put out chocolate cookies and milk, and carrots for the reindeer. They always eat them all up, and Santa leaves crumbs on the plate.
Santa gets mince pieces and we give candy canes to the reindeer because the reindeer like candy canes — they love them. I saw them eating them in a movie on Netflix and they just loved them so I always make sure we put them out.
I always make Smartie cookies for Santa. I give carrots to the reindeer. I woke up and the milk was all drunk and the carrots were gone and the presents were already there.
My mammy and daddy never saw Santa because they were asleep when he came.
Because they’re always asleep.
She probably makes an apple pie for Santa and does the chores. The elves were doing a lot of work too, making all the presents, so she makes their dinner.
She lies down and has a rest, because she’s very tired. Then she makes a fresh pie for when Santa comes home.
She plays games with the elves, like matching things.
It’s done with Christmas magic. Santa magics them so he can go off and deliver presents to the boys and girls.
There’s a special star that glows up and that makes the reindeer fly, and they have a thing around their waist with magic bells on it and they can fly with the magic bells.
Santa puts magic on them. He keeps it in a box and takes it out at Christmas. Carla Ni Mhurchu (5) There’s this special star they put on the sleigh and that makes the reindeer fly.
Santa eats the fresh pie Mrs Claus made him, and then, maybe, he just falls asleep. They eat lots and lots of food.
They wrap their own presents. Santa gives Mrs Claus a pie and she gives him carrots for the reindeer.
They do some colouring and they have a nice dinner and they play games with the elves. They play Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii.
