Random murals have been popping up around Tralee town

Random murals of cats, mice, and bikes, have been popping up all over Tralee town, over the past few months.

Mike O’Donnell is on a mission to make people smile with his ‘Banksy-equse’ artwork in random locations of the Kerry capital.

His most recent piece, location on Rock Street, depicts Kerry GAA footballer, Keiran Donaghy with the words: “Well, Joe Brolly. What do you think of that?”.

The artist brings his pieces to life by adding captions to his tweets.

"Little girl, you came to our town with hope in your heart. You lay down with hunger and death took you. Your hope lives on," he wrote alongside his 'little girl' mural.

This is a simple nod to the devastation the famine caused in towns such as Tralee from 1845 to 1852.
