'Two Become Wyn': Irish and Welsh rugby unions battle it out in Spice Girls puntathlon
The Irish and Welsh rugby unions were embroiled in a Spice Girls-related pun-off on Twitter this afternoon.
The tweets relate to lyrics of the band's songs, as well as Welsh rugby star Alun-Wyn Jones.
The fun began with a tweet from the Principality Stadium yesterday which said it was keeping its roof open following the Spice Girls gig in Croke Park.
The Irish Rugby account replied, "Yeah, but they're not facing Alun Wyn Jones are they?", and so began the repartee.

Wyn...ger Spice? 😔

Look, you won the slam, at least let us win the Alpun-Wyn jokes. 😀

Then the Guinness Six Nations account joined in, saying: "Could we get the @spicegirls to sing at half time when you guys meet in February?"
Is this leading to an Aviva Forever joke...? If so, who do you think you are?

It led to the Scottish Rugby Union trying to kick the conversation to touch, asking them to "stop right now, thank you very much".
However, they were undeterred
Even if we're giving you everything? All that joy can bring?

Tell you what we want, what we really really want... is for this to be over because we don't know any more Spice Girls lyrcis.

We reckon it was a Wyn for Ireland this time...
