Nigel Farage, Frances Fitzgerald's age and Brexit the most common Irish Google searches for EU elections

On Friday, Irish citizens will be asked to cast their vote for candidates who will represent them in the European Parliament, as well as at local council level and a referendum on divorce legislation.
Over the last two days, Google search results have provided us with what interests and concern the people of Ireland when it comes to Friday's poll.
UK Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage is the EU candidate most googled by Irish people, a position earned for him due to his recent interaction with a milkshake wielding protestor.
The data, collected by MKC Communications, also shows that Dublin Independent candidate Ben Gilroy secured the second spot in the most googled list as Irish people logged on to watch his

Former Rose of Tralee, and Fine Gael EU candidate Maria Walsh comes in third on the list, with Gemma O'Doherty and Mick Wallace rounding out the top five.
Both Farage and Gilroy appeared in the top questions searched by the Irish public as well, but they were pipped to first place by people asking "What age is Frances Fitzgerald?"
She's 68, in case you wanted to know.
People also seemed to be concerned about Alice Mary Higgins and whether or not she was related to President Michael D Higgins...she is.

In an unsurprising turn of events, Brexit dominated the top searched political topics, as well as citizenship, immigration and climate change.
