This Cork hotel had some very unusual guests in their breakfast room this morning

We hope they paid their bill.

As Ireland’s heatwave continues into its second week, we are reminded to keep sun safe and hydrated.

Pet owners and farmers have been working around the clock to make sure that their animals are well watered and kept in the shade.

Wild animals, on the other hand, have had to fight for themselves and find a variety of suitable places to cool down.

Such as these ducks who decided to check-in at Cork’s Metropole Hotel on MacCurtain Street.

The four-star hotel tweeted a photo of the ducklings, waddling into the breakfast room this morning.

After a little potter through the breakfast area, the team safely guided them back to the River Lee and made sure they were all ok.

Not before they paid their bill of course.
