Mayo artist, 17, wins art competition 34 years after her father claimed same prize

A young Mayo artist has been named the overall winner of this year's 64th Texaco Children's Art Competition.

Hetty Lawlor, a 17-year old student from Kilmeena, near Westport and a pupil at the local Sacred Heart School, will take first prize in the senior 16-18 years age category.
