Watch: Cork artists prepare for Panti Bliss to open annual exhibition

Students at Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork have been busy preparing for the annual Degree Show.

Showcasing the work of graduating students from the Department of Fine Art and Applied Art, the show will open on Friday June 9 and close on Friday June 16.

The entire building on Sharman Crawford Street in Cork will be transformed into a gallery and opened to the public.

Rory O'Neill, aka Panti Bliss, will open the event on June 9 that includes a wide range of art processes including painting, sculpture, photography, media, print, performance, ceramics, glass, and textiles.

The title of the exhibition, BEYOND DIALOGUE, refers to the unique language of art, and while some ideas belong to the written/verbal word, other ideas are better expressed within the context of an art experience.

The dates for the Department of Fine Art and Applied Art Degree Show 2017 are:

  • Friday June 9, with opening event speaker Rory O'Neill (Panti Bliss) 6pm-9pm
  • Saturday June 10 to Friday June 16 11am-6pm
  • *Late opening on Thursday June 15 until 8pm
