WATCH: Nana O'Donovan has a criteria for the Olympians' prospective girlfriends

The O'Donovan brothers might have won Olympic silver medals, but it is clear that their Nana has won the hearts of the nation after her performance on The Late Late Show last night.

Ryan Tubridy asked the boys permission to meet their nana before seeking her out in the crowd,giving her a quick peck on the cheek and sitting down alongside her for a chat.

After a few minutes it was clear where the Olympic rowers get their witty charm as Nana O'Donovan was full of praise for her two grandsons and full of warning for any woman who might be considering her chances with the young athletes.

”She would have to be able to cook, wash, iron and knit,” Nana O'Donovan told Tubs.

“She would have to row as well,” Nana O'Donovan added, “She would have to get a boat to get to know them.”

All very practical advice from the woman behind Ireland's favourite Olympians.

And, says Tubs, if they do bring home someone special, would you have the final say?

“Of course” Nana O'Donovan replies.

Clearly, a force to be reckoned with, it's not hard to see how the boys got their strong personalities.
