Kayaker gets surprise as bear swims right by him

Close enough to hear the "big gasping, grunting sound of it breathing".

Matthew Garrity was kayaking on Hemlock Lack in New York State last Saturday when he noticed something swimming towards him.

"I'm looking around at the beautiful view and I saw something swimming across the lake, but I couldn't identify what this was," Matthew told the Democrat and Chronicle.
