This Irish guy recorded one second a day for eight months to propose to his girlfriend

And the resulting video is lovely.

Consider the bar for proposals raised, everyone.

Gavin Fogarty from Dublin decided to do something a bit special to help him to propose to his girlfriend, Clara Burke.

Everyday, for eight months, he filmed one second of their life together to show her “just how amazing life is through my eyes now that I have you. . . Even the ‘boring bits".

Gavin shows Clara what he's filmed - up until the moment he gets the ring out and she realises what's going on.

Gavin got permission from the Delorentos to use the couple's favourite song in the video - and the band even shared it to their Facebook page with the caption "This is fantastic and lovely".

Can't argue with that assessment.
