This radio presenter is retaking her Junior Cert this morning
A Beat 102-103FM DJ is joining the thousands of students starting exams this morning - as an act of solidarity.
As part of an experiment to find out if students in 2016 have a more stressful time of it, Emma Nolan, who presents the Takeover, pledged to retake the Junior Cert - she will sit English, Irish and Maths papers, starting with English Paper 1 this morning.
For the past seven weeks, Emma has been brushing up on her revision, getting tips and 'grinds' from fellow Junior Certs and other listeners live on air - her old teachers from Blackwater Community School in Lismore have even given her tutorials.

She put the old uniform on this morning to take English Paper 1 with the 'invigilators' (Niall and Vinny from Beat Breakfast) on hand to make sure she sticks to the State exam rules.

"I’m obviously nervous about not doing well but I’m really glad I took part because I can see first-hand the enormous pressure that students are under and sometimes us adults can lose sight of that,” said Emma.
And, like all the other JC students, Emma will have to wait until September to find out how she did.
Good luck!
