Cats are known for their intelligence, but this might not be a welcome development.

A video of a black cat appearing to slither down the stairs like a snake has been widely shared all over social media.

Since it was posted yesterday on YouTube by Cleber Moura the clip has been viewed more than 26,000 times.

We have no idea if the cat is just trying to scratch an itch or if that’s really how it goes down the stairs, but it is definitely some weird behaviour.

You could see the cat starring in a future Hollywood horror movie!
