A voter lost her wedding ring in a ballot box yesterday

We bet she was more excited than the candidates for the boxes to be opened.

One Arklow voter gave away more than her vote yesterday when her engagement ring slipped into a ballot box.

Of course, they couldn't go digging for it mid-election so she had to wait patiently overnight for the boxes to be opened today at 9am.

And a few hours later, the ring was unearthed from Box 14 and returned to its presumably relieved owner.

Good news! The missing eternity ring has turned up in Box 14! The diamond and silver ring now reunited with the owner!
