This warning note would put the fear of God in canvassers across the country

A canvasser’s worst nightmare…

Back away from the door –pronto!

It is that time of year when you might get a random visit from a politician to your door, beggin’ for a vote. But the politicians calling to this door might be beggin’ for some relief if it was not for this conscientious note left out for those on the campaign trail.

The note reads: “A talkative wee Derry man lives here. He doesn’t have a vote in this constituency but he’ll keep you at the doorstep and tell you his life story if you ring the doorbell… Your move.”

A challenge if ever we heard one.

The note was left out by the man's daughter who took pity on the canvassers or else didn’t want all the heat let out of the house while he stood at the door.

The Donegal politicians have their work cut out for them here -tougher than the postman’s ongoing feud with small angry dogs!
