The backlog began when Dr Ben Carson was called, but didn’t hear his name due to the audience’s rapturous clapping.

When the next candidate was called, he simply remained backstage, on camera.

He was soon joined by Donald Trump who reluctantly appeared from behind the curtain to slink up alongside Dr Carson instead of heading out on stage.

Once the others were called, the announcers then called Donald Trump and Ben Carson onto the stage, completely forgetting about the final candidate waiting patiently backstage, off camera, John Kasich.

Golden TV moments.
