DJ barricades himself inside studio to play Last Christmas 24 times in a row

A radio DJ in Austria is in hot water after pulling a Christmassy stunt during the morning drive-time show.

Joe Kohlhofer co-hosts the 8am breakfast show on the Antennae Carinthia station with Patricia Jordan, but he locked her out of the studio and barricaded himself inside.

Jordan watched on helplessly through a glass partition as Kohlhofer proceeded to launch into a marathon of playing Wham’s 1984 Christmas classic Last Christmas.

As the song was repeated over-and-over again the station was subjected to a flood of complaints by listeners.

Kohlhofer took calls from the disgruntled listeners and only ceased playing the song after being begged by his four-year-old daughter to stop. By then he had managed to spin the record a whopping 24 times.

Listeners were subjected to the song for almost two hours and the station has said Kohlhofer will face “consequences”.

We think given the publicity the station has got, and the fact they are pumping it out on their own YouTube, Joe’s job will be safe this Christmas.
