Homeless veteran overwhelmed by goodwill gesture

It was not too long ago that we were disgusted by footage of a homeless man being taunted with fast food by a McDonald's worker only to have a drink thrown in his face.

But today's video is a lot more uplifting if just as thought-provoking.

A man whose Youtube name is MrKhalidmax999 has published a video of his encounter with a homeless veteran.

On Youtube he wrote: "Today I met this homeless war veteran on the gas station. He approached me and asked me for change. I said what do you need the change for?

"He said he hasn't eaten since yesterday. So I told him to hop in the car and let me buy you food. Take a look at the video.

"The idea behind this video is not every homeless person asks for money to buy drugs and also to raise awareness for our homeless veterans."

The extent to which this homeless man is moved by the kindness of this complete stranger is a testament to the power we all have to make a difference to another person's life.

The video has been watched more than 200,000 times since it was published four days ago and shows you just how much a simple gesture can mean to some people.

Lets hope this goodwill gesture inspires more of the same because it sure looks needed.
