Dublin Zoo has a new arrival and he is adorable
Dublin Zoo is the proud owner of a four day old baby giraffe, born last Sunday, at the zoo in the company of the female giraffes.
A Rothschild giraffe was born four days ago and today was the first day the little baby giraffe ventured out into the world around him.

The calf is 1.5metres high and weighs 45kg, he can grow to as much as six metres high and can weigh more than 2000kg.
The new arrival joined the herd of eight giraffes at Dublin Zoo after being born in the giraffe house with the other female members of the herd.

The birth was watched on CCTV by the staff to ensure that there were no problems.
The Rothschild giraffe is one of the most threatened of the nine sub-species of giraffe.
The new kid on the block has yet to be named and the excited Dublin Zoo staff will have the great honour of naming him in the coming days.
