VIDEO: This guy spent 6 months and $1500 making a sandwich from scratch

Completely from scratch.

We hear a lot about eating whole foods and being aware of where produce comes from but do we full realise what has to happen for us to be able to order a sandwich in a deli.

Andy George from the YouTube channel How To Make Everything is dedicated to finding out just what it takes to make those things we take for granted and in this episode, he decided to make a sandwich from the very beginning.

He grew the fresh ingredients, extracted salt from sea water, milked a cow, made cheese and butter, harvested wheat, collected honey and made the bread. He even killed a chicken.

It took him six months and he spent $1,500.

And his verdict?

"Not bad".
