FIRST LOOK: Primark opens their first American store today

“Thanks girl, Penneys” has officially made its way stateside, as Primark opens its first American store in Boston today.

Located Downtown, on the corner of Summer and Washington Street, it has attracted a lot of attention.

A digital window display has even been added to the window, counting down the hours.

The 77,000 square foot, four-storey building in the heart of Boston was designed by the same architect as Selfridges on Oxford Street, and is roughly about the same size as ‘the mecca’ Primark on London’s Tottenham Court Road.

The company celebrated the launch last night with a two-hour #Primania party, live on Periscope.

So far, the who's who of American bloggers have been loving #PrimarkUSA.

And it has also caught the attention of Marty Walsh, the Mayor of Boston who has family from Connemara.

He is even set to cut the ribbon at the official store opening today at 11am EST.
