Instagram have just made it a lot easier to ‘creep’ on your ‘friends’

Another day, another social media update that makes us jump up and down screaming around the office.

And if you’re anything like us, you’ll understand.

Introducing Instagram Direct 2.0:

The new update from the picture sharing site allows you to not only share public Instagram pictures to each other directly, but in a private group - in a similar fashion to Facebook messenger.

Just click on the ‘reply’ arrow underneath the specific picture.

The app will then give you the option of sending it to one or multiple people.

As easy as that.

These direct messages are now also threaded, so you can continue conversations and view the messaging history between you and your friends.

If you want to go back into the ‘group message’ and add additional text, simply return to your homepage and select the ‘dropbox’ icon.

Gone be with the days of screenshotting the photo and sending it to that Whatsapp group or @ mentioning your friends underneath the specific post.

Hurrah! Think of all that free space you'll now have in your camera roll!

The new update also gives you the option to send a live selfie or video to the group - in a similar fashion to Snapchat.

And issue you with a notification when a member sends an update.

We know, we know, direct messaging on Insta was orginally introduced back in 2013 but unfortunately didn’t take off - hence the new update.

Thank you, Instagram. Thank you.
