PIC: Father pays wonderful tribute to daughter with cochlear implant

New Zealander Alistair Campbell has shaved his head bald in order to tattoo a picture of a cochlear implant on his scalp and it is all for the love of his daughter Charlotte.
Six-year-old Charlotte would be completely deaf without her implant and her struggle has inspired her father to make the gesture.
Alistair surprised Charlotte with his tattoo on Tuesday night as she was due to have a procedure to install her second cochlear implant the next day. Charlotte's mother Anita then shared a photo of the tattoo and her daughter's new implant on Facebook and the picture has gone viral.

Speaking to the Stuff.co.nz Charlotteâs parents explained how the implant has changed her life.
Before receiving her first implant at four, Anita said Charlotte was âquite introvertedâ, but now she is âthe life of the partyâ.
âCharlotte's journey has been quite a hard journey for her and for us,â said Alistair.
âThe tattoo was a tribute - this was all about her, not me.â
For her part Charlotte thinks daddyâs tattoo is âcoolâ and is making great progress with her new cochlear implant.
"We have a close father-daughter bond, and I thought it would be quite fitting for me to do that,â the doting father said.
"As she grows older, she'll understand the love behind it."
