Ireland's postcode system was announced today and people were NOT happy

After saying that we can't expect the system - rolled out nationally to every single household and business - to be perfect on day one, Alex White was put on the back foot as people found themselves put into completely different counties.

The new Eircodes are brilliant. The back of our house has a different Eircode to the front of the house. That's not a joke, it really does.

Oh, and the system doesn’t work with many Irish language addresses - one of the state's two official languages - prompting a backlash from Conradh na Gaeilge, who say up to 50,000 Irish names will be missing.
