Two brothers have been sharing the same birthday card for over 40 years

They started in 1973.

Brothers Jeff and Ron have been sharing a Peanuts inspired birthday card back and forth for at least the last 41 years.

The card, figuring the character of Linus (Charlie Brown’s best friend) on the front, contains the message: “Don’t throw this card away…Recycle it to a friend!”

The brothers really took that message to heart and have continued the tradition up to last year.

Jeff and Ron are father and uncle to Redditor venusreincarnate who uploaded the pictures to the social sharing site.

Jeff’s birthday was yesterday and venusreincarnate felt it would be a nice story to share. Good call that - it's been one of the most popular posts on Reddit this week.

Ron has forgotten on a couple of occasions to sign it, but it is still lovely to see the two have kept it going for so long.

Hopefully there will be many more birthdays to sign for!
