RTÉ closed its Nine O'Clock news last night with an emotional tribute to the six Irish victims of the Berkeley tragedy.

Six students were killed when the fourth floor balcony gave way during a 21st birthday party on Monday night, while seven more people were injured.

At the end of their news programme last night RTÉ used a piece of music from US group the Willis Clan – played earlier on the John Murray Show – in an poignant tribute to Irish students Olivia Burke, Eoghan Culligan, Niccolai Schuster, Lorcan Miller, Eimear Walsh as well as Irish-American Ashley Donohoe, who died in the incident.
