We might all be enjoying the brief appearance of Leaving Cert weather this morning, but several hours earlier, there was even more impressive weather.

Problem was, you could only see it from space.

Italian astronaut Sam Cristoforetti tweeted a remarkable photo from the International Space Station this morning, which shows Ireland hidden, perfectly, behind a thin layer of Ireland-shaped cloud.

"Nice job disguising yourself Ireland," she wrote, "but we can still see you."

Clearly, we spent all that Celtic tiger money on a cloaking device.

Sam is one of the ISS crew who regularly posts stunning photos of our little blue dot to Twitter, and is well worth following on Twitter at astrosamantha.
