Watching processed meat get made in a factory might turn you vegetarian

Sausages are forever ruined once you've seen them in their true, gelatinous form.

Watching processed meat get made in a factory might turn you vegetarian

Be warned: if you are a fan of sausages, pepperoni on your pizza, or pretty much anything that comes from a deli counter, you might not want to continue.

That's because How It's Made, everyone's favourite documentary series of machines doing their job, took a trip to a meat factory. And what the recently-uploaded archive footage shows us is - well, the truth.

While we might know, in an abstract way, that pigs aren't naturally sheped like bangers, seeing it in action is a whole other experience. The meat loaf above is particularly horrific. The short video covers:

• Sausages (0:10 - 01:49)

• Meat loaf (01:50 - 2:50)

• Pepperoni (02:51 - 03:24)

• Baloney (03:25 - 4:25)

The sheer oddness award goes to the baloney, though, which is smacked by a spiked paddle and attached to some sort of skin-stuffing machine.

Enjoy - or, perhaps more suitably, bon appetit.
