VIDEO: Poor crab swallowed whole by octopus after brave chase

It tried its best to get away.

Onlookers at Sydney Harbour captured a video that shows nature at its best.

A predatory octopus was chasing a crab in front of a fascinated crowd at Rose Bay and the crustacean did its absolute best to avoid being eaten.

It was all in vain however as the octopus eventually catches the crab and proceeds to swallow him whole.

The octopus then disappears into the deep to lie in wait for his next meal.
