VIDEO: How to burst a balloon with an orange

In case you were wondering, this is how you use an orange to burst a balloon.

It's very straightforward, really. You just squeeze a piece of orange peel over the balloon - and pop! The balloon bursts.

This video goes on for about 50 seconds too long, by the way - once you've seen it done once, you really don't need to see it again.

The science bit:

Orange peel contains the essential oil limonene in very high concentrations. When it hits the rubber of the balloon, it weakens it - causing the balloon to burst. You can even start fires with orange peel as limonene is also highly flammable.
