Traffic warden under investigation for issuing parking fine to a wheelie bin
A traffic warden in the Welsh town of Carmarthen is under investigation after issuing a £30 fixed penalty notice to a wheelie bin.
The incident was spotted by local salesman Mike Jones and has been widely picked up by news outlets.
Jones has said he saw the unnamed warden talking to residents after they were upset with a wheelie bin left on double yellow lines.
It was then Jones saw the warden issue the ticket to the Biffa branded bin.
Mike told The Mirror: “It was bizarre! I realised had just watched a warden give a ticket to a wheelie bin for bad parking.”
“It appeared the warden slapped the plastic ticket envelope on the bin in a moment of hi-jinx after a member of public pointed out it was parked on double yellow lines. I saw him doing it and pulled in and took the pictures,” added Jones.
“What's the point of putting it on the bin?

Carmarthenshire Council have confirmed that a formal investigation has been launched, but have also said it is likely the unusual event was just a harmless joke.
“The officer was patrolling the area when a member of the public pointed out that the wheelie bin was an obstruction, and asked if he was going to book it. The officer, in a light-hearted moment, wrapped a Penalty Charge Notice envelope around the bin handle.
“There was no ticket issued, it is not possible to book a wheelie bin or anything that is not motorised," said the council.
We ‘wheelie’ hope it’s a joke … (sorry!)
