Cork bar stirs controversy by inviting secondary students in to 'study'

A Cork bar has caused a little stir on Twitter (again) this morning after tweeting this suggestion to any secondary school students who find themselves at a loose end due to today's teacher's strike.

Appealing directly to those students who are over 18, the Bishopstown Bar are suggesting that those off school take advantage of their facilities to 'study'.

The pub then tweeted that they only meant that students come in for breakfast.

Sure you were...

The Bishopstown Bar is, of course, no stranger to controversial advertising. Last August, they were forced to remove a tweet reminding all Leaving Cert students getting their results that they served alcohol from 10.30 am.

And in October, they were slammed for suggesting that people spend the €5 Budget increase in Child Benefit on a pint of Fosters and a packet of Pringles in their bar.

So today's tweet is just par for the course, really.
