VIDEO: Legally blind man sees for the first time in 20 years

Mark Cornell became legally blind 20 years ago after serving in the US Air Force for 18 years. In this video, thanks to a pair of electronic glasses that enhance what little vision he has, he is able to see his friends for the very first time.

It's a special moment.

The eSight glasses use a camera and advanced computing to create a real-time video for people suffering reduced vision. Users can enhance and magnify the images as they wish. But it comes at a hefty price-tag - $15,000 (€12,900). eSight are committed to helping those that cannot afford it by organising sponsors and fundraising.

And another video doing the rounds today shows the touching moment a little girl tries on her glasses for the first time.

Louise - who has albinism - has the sweetest reaction when she puts the glasses on and sees her mother clearly for the first time.

"Oh, there you are!"
