ITV News had their version of RTÈ’s slipping on ice man last night

During last night’s ITV News a moped smashed into a pedestrian in the background of a live report from London.
ITV News reporter Ria Chatterjee was on the air, outside St Pancras Station, describing travel problems for passengers after a truck fire caused the closure of the Channel Tunnel when the incident took place.
A pedestrian – wearing a hat and holding a suitcase – had his feet taken from under him after a moped lost control in the cold conditions and crashed into his legs as it slid along the ground.
Chatterjee seemed to either carry on with her job professionally or was completely unaware of what was going on behind her.
The reporter later confirmed on Twitter that thankfully all involved in the accident were fine.
The pedestrian and motorcyclist who collided during my live broadcast at St Pancras Stn are both fine.

The crash brings to mind the famous incident where RTÈ News cameras caught a man falling painfully on the ice, five years ago, that went viral.
Stay safe out there in the cold folks!
