AUDIO: Man arrested after asking emergency service dispatcher on a date
Anyone who has ever needed the emergency services knows the tough, but brilliant job these guys do.
The last thing they need is people wasting their precious time and asking the dispatcher on a ‘date’ really takes the biscuit.
45-year-old Stephen Ramsey from Naples, Florida was arrested on Tuesday for a bizarre, rambling call to the US 911 emergency services - in which he also asked the female dispatcher if she was “into handcuffs.”
After repeatedly asking the dispatcher on a date, she strongly told Ramsey that he was wasting the emergency services’ time and yet it still took him over six minutes to put down the phone.
A police officer was sent to arrest Ramsey and he allegedly told the officer that he was "looking for a date or escort service to help him pass the time."
The officer added that Mr Ramsey did seem to have taken alcohol on board at the time.
Ramsey remains on the Collier County Jail on $2,000 bond after he was charged with the rare offence of misuse of 911.
