Irish person denied job in Korea "due to the alcoholism nature of your kind"
An email said to be from a South Korean employer to an Irish applicant has been causing a bit of fuss online today.
The screengrab of the message was uploaded to Reddit by user who says that he was sent a link to the pic by his sister who teaches English in Korea.
In the email to 'Katie', the recruiter informs her that she will not be hired "due to the alchoholism nature of your kind".

The email has divided opinion over whether it is in fact a fake.
One Korean commenter said he didn't think it was real as the "Irish are drunks" stereotype is more of a Western joke:
"Ireland/Irish people have just about never registered in the average Korean's mind and we don't have any stereotypes particular to the Irish."
One Irish man who lives in the Korea commented on the type of discrimination he has seen in the country:
"That's pretty outrageous, even by Korean standards. Many of the jobs here openly advertise wanting an American/Canadian female regardless of qualifications. It's much harder to get hired if you're black or anything other than white, too.
"Discrimination is practiced pretty openly here, at least in private sector teaching. Koreans can be very blunt when it comes to appearances and stereotypes etc."
Well, at least the recruiter wished her "the best of luck in the future". That's nice.
