Toys R Us under fire for selling hyper-realistic Breaking Bad dolls

Toys R Us are selling 6in action figures of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman - the perfect Christmas stocking filler, surely, for the adult cool-TV fan in your life.

However, some US parents are up in arms that the toy retailer is selling the dolls in the same store as the cutsie kiddies’ toys they’re famous for.

One woman has launched a change.org campaign to have them removed from the shelves and website of Toys R Us, calling the dolls “a dangerous deviation from family friendly values”.

The petition by US mother Susan Myers says: “...Their decision to sell a Breaking Bad doll, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, alongside children’s toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values. That’s why I’m calling on Toys R Us to immediately stop selling the Breaking Bad doll collection in their stores and on their website.

“...(Breaking Bad’s) violent content and celebration of the drug trade make this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters.”

There are 2,235 signatures in support of her petition so far.

We swear these dolls - on sale on the Toys R Us website for $17.99 each - are about to break into some of those famous Breaking Bad catchphrases - they’re THAT realistic.

US chains Barnes and Noble and Walmart are also selling them.

Here’s a look at the hyper-realistic mini Walt and Jesse:

Another version of the Walter White doll not currently for sale on the Toys R Us website, but available in Walmart shows him with a duffle bag (for all that ill-gotten cash) and a teeny bag of crystal meth.

Chills.

Update: Bryan Cranston, who of course plays Walter White in the series has responded to the campaign to have the dolls removed with the tweet below:

Well played, sir.
