However, with the Ukrainian parliamentary election set for October 26, the veteran commander of the Star Wars and one-time Sith Lord has returned to run for the Internet Party of Ukraine once more.

In the first of several ads, Vader can be seen playing his theme song, the Imperial March, on a Bandura - a traditional Ukrainian instrument similar to the lute and zither.

He also dispatched his imperial minions to caress statues of the nation's past, and, in a surpirse move, revealed that he is a Cossack - a specific Ukrainian ethnic group.

And their publicity campaign is not just limited to online videos. Darth Vader's has been spotted throughout Odessa in Ukraine – and, among candidates on the ballot are Darth V. Vader himself, Stepan Chubakka, Master V. Yoda and Padme N. Amidala - all of whom have apparently had their names legally changed, and appear on the election commission's list.

May the Force be with them.
