Irishman Mark Pollock has an incredible story. After losing his sight at the age of 22, Pollock journeyed to the South Pole in a race - the first sightless person to do so.
A few weeks before his wedding, however, he had a severe fall from a second-storey window that paralysed him from the waist down, but which he survived. Undaunted, he continued to work towards finding a solution to his paralysis, through the Mark Pollock Trust, the Run in the Dark charity, and his own efforts.
