Not a single diva among Roses, says front man Daithí

The first part of this year's Rose of Tralee selection festival gets underway in Co Kerry tonight.

More than 750,000 viewers are expected to tune in to watch the event live from the Dome in Tralee.

The 2014 Newbridge Silverware Escort of the Year will be announced during the programme.

Daithí O’Se will take to the stage at 8pm to interview the first 18 Roses.

The Kerryman, who is presenting the show for the fifth year running, said the Roses made his job very easy.

"The 32 Roses this year are like open books. There's no diva among them. They're up for any kind of craic at all…and that makes the show much easier to make," he said.
