VIDEO: This guy climbs buildings like a real-life Spiderman

He really likes to climb things.

Alex Honnold really likes to climb things. He probably drove his mother demented when he was younger but now he's made it his life's work.

Recently he's moved on from climbing mountains and cliffs to scaling heights in the urban jungle.

"I spend so much more time on rock where its so natural to me, whereas with buildings its much more of an adventure. I don't have that much experience climbing up buildings, so it's more exciting," he said.

What makes it even more exciting (or terrifying) is that Alex is a free-solo climber - no safety ropes, harnesses or winches. Nothing to save him if he takes a tumble.

But Alex has spent years training and prioritises his safety, saying he plans on being a grandfather.

Spiderman as your grandfather? That would be so cool.
