VIDEO: New puppy brings grieving grandfather to tears

We dare you to watch this and not cry.

Francois Vermier, from Belgium, lost his wife of 63 years in late July, after a short illness. His family didn't want him to be lonely so they decided to give him a puppy, to keep him company.

And his reaction is incredibly moving.

Francois' grandson Davy Vanhaesendonck filmed the emotional moment the little brown and black terrier was presented to Francois by his six-year-old granddaughter, Lisa, reducing him to tears.

Speaking in Flemish but with English subtitles, Mr. Vermier is overwhelmed, saying:

“I can’t believe it. Is it for me? Thank you darling.”

We hope Francois and Snoopy have a long happy life together. Excuse us, we just have to go over here and bawl for a little while…
