Tubridy has no plans to move from 2FM

2FM have denied rumours this morning that Ryan Tubridy would be making a move to RTÉ Radio 1.

Rumours have been flying all morning that Tubridy will make a move to RTÉ Radio 1 but 2FM have confirmed that “there are no plans to move Ryan Tubridy” and that “ Ryan Tubridy will be on 2fm in the new season”.

The JNLR radio ratings seen a drop in the listeners of Ryan’s breakfast slot to 152,000 at last count and an impressive jump of 1,000 listeners to Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene’s slot.

“Ryan’s ratings are still strong. Shows in a three-hour slot always perform stronger than those in a two-hour slot. That’s why Nicky is ahead. We still have total faith in Ryan as a broadcaster,” 2fm boss Dan Healy has said regarding the figures.

Now Tubridy – who is paid €495,000 a year – was said to be replacing Ronan Collins between 12-1pm after the figures were released and as Ronan’s contract with RTE is up this year, it was said he would be happy to be moved to weekends.

But it looks like he's not budging now, would you have liked to have seen the move?
