Dublin Zoo welcomes arrival of Asian lion cub

There's definitely a baby boom happening over at Dublin Zoo!

Just a few weeks ago, we had the news that a new Asian elephant - a boy - had been born to mum Yasmin and now there's another new arrival - this time an Asian lion cub.

The male cub was born to mum Kuri and dad Kumar. And it seems from the below photo, it seems that his mom is already embarassing him in public.

Asian lions are critically endangered with less than 350 left in the wild so this birth is very important for Dublin Zoo and breeding programmes worldwide.

As always, Dublin Zoo are inviting the public to submit ideas for names to its Facebook page - ideally with an Asian inspiration in keeping with the little one's heritage.

Any chance Dublin Zoo could organise a naming ceremony like this one, please? Someone call Elton John.
