Underwater camera shows what it's like to be attacked by a great white shark
We're not sure what's worse - the terrifying sharp teeth, the cold, dead eyes or the clinical ruthlessness of the sharks.
In 2013, a team of researchers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution launched a specially-equipped 'SharkCam' into the waters off Guadalupe Island in Mexico.
The seven-foot-long underwater vehicle - called REMUS - was fitted with six cameras and a microphone - all the better to record the movements of the great whites that live in the area.
What they managed to film is very, very scary - sharks attacking the camera as if it were prey, up close and personal and from different angles.
The video was released this week as part of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel and is a chilling reminder to NEVER GO SWIMMING IN THE SEA AGAIN. At least not around Guadalupe Island.
