Michael Lohan is worried his pregnant girlfriend will miscarry in prison.
The father of Lindsay Lohan has sought legal advice for his sake of his girlfriend, Kate Major who is currently five months pregnant and serving an eight-month sentence for driving under the influence (DUI).
Michael has now hired Jose Baez to obtain a court order to ensure that his girlfriend is receiving proper medical treatment after she reportedly suffered two incidents of bleeding.
Talking to TMZ, the 54-year-old showbiz patriarch vented: "You know damn well if someone has bleeding while pregnant that's indicative of a miscarriage."
Michael told the website that prison officials took Kate to an infirmary when she started to bleed and sent her back to her cell without seeing a specialist, though she was given an ultrasound scan which indicated a heartbeat in her unborn baby.
He also alleged Kate was forced to carry her own personal items back to her room while still bleeding.
Kate, who is already mother to Michael's 18-month-old son, Landon, is serving an eight-month sentence in Gun Club Road Jail in Palm Beach, Florida.
The former journalist was arrested in March 2013 after Michael - who has four other children, including Lindsay, with ex-wife Dina - called the police following a drunken feud.
Kate was pulled over by police where she tested three times over the drink drive limit.
At the time, Michael said: "I will stand by her through the whole thing, especially for the sake of our son. I just want her to get better, and I wish her the best."
