Flatley 'doesn't understand' why people wear tracksuits

Michael Flatley has said he doesn't understand why people in Ireland wear tracksuits.

The dancer has told Hello magazine he and his wife always dress for Friday dinner in the formal dining room of their Cork mansion.

He wears a suit and tie, or a tuxedo.

He said in an interview with the magazine: “I will wear a suit and tie or a tuxedo. We really dress up. I don’t understand people who say they can’t wait to get home and throw on sweats.

“I married my wife because she is the most important person in the world. If there is ever a time to dress up, it’s for your wife.

“I get out some gin and take my time preparing the perfect martini and listen to some Frank Sinatra and wait for her to come downstairs.”

The 56-year-old added it's important for him to dress well for his partner Niamh, and he doesn't understand people who come home and "throw on sweats."
