Find out which two TV3 shows have been axed

TV3 have announced today that two of their shows have been axed to make way for some new programming.

TV3’s ‘Midweek’ - presented by Collette Fitzpatrick and airing every Wednesday - will be replaced by a new Public Affairs Documentary Unit promising to produce quality current affairs and topical programming, while 3e’s ‘FYI’ is to be replaced with 60-second news bulletins throughout the day known as ‘The Thread’.

TV3 have also said a new Primetime early evening show will air weeknights from January and add more than 127 hours of Irish-produced content to the station's 2015 schedule which will “cover people and items of interest happening all over Ireland”.

“A new anchor host has yet to be announced but this unique show will comprise of some of TV3’s finest reporters, all of whom will report on stories and exciting events from around the country. The show will also welcome special guests each night to add an extra dimension to proceedings,” the statement has said.

Don’t worry the Midweek team will be subsumed into both the new News and Public Affairs Documentary Unit and TV3’s new early evening programme.

The announcements have come in advance of the station’s autumn launch later this year where we can expect a number of new announcements to be made.

What are your thoughts on the new scheduling?
