Yes, that's right - potato salad...

Kickstarter potato salad campaign raises over €25,000

We like potato salad as much as the next person but we could never have predicted that a Kickstarter campaign would raise this much money this fast just so that one man could eat the stuff.

What started off as Zack 'Danger' Brown's tongue-in-cheek request for $10 so he could make potato salad has snowballed with the total amount pledged currently standing at over $35,000 with 25 days remaining. That's just over €25,000.

We can't explain it. It's the internet's fault.

Brown offered rewards for pledging money such as a bite of his potato salad or their name carved into one of the potato's used in the salad

There is no word yet on what Zack plans to do with the money, although he is thinking of holding a big party - serving potato salad, obviously. Kickstarter meanwhile has yet to comment on whether the campaign is in compliance with their rules.

Zack hosted an Ask Me Anything on Reddit on Sunday and explained why he began the campaign.

"I never thought it would go this far. $10 seemed like a good, conservative goal," he commented.

"I think the thing people are responding to is the opportunity to come together around something equal parts absurd and mundane. Potato Salad isn't controversial, but it seems to unite us all."

So inspiring.
